Prior to the launch of Mudgee Brewing Company in June 2007, local resident and beer aficionado, Gary Leonard, gave himself the task of creating a new brand of locally brewed, boutique style beer.
It is not just mixing barley and hops that makes a great beer. One of the most vital ingredients in brewing the perfect beer is a passionate and skilful brewer.
After a lot of hard work setting up his micro-brewery, plenty of research and many, many (but very necessary!) taste tests, Gary settled on the recipe for 3 distinct boutique beer flavours that have now gone on to form the 3 flagship products of Mudgee Brewing Company.
From that labour of love came the secrets of brewing a Mudgee Brewing Company Beer and the Mudgee Brewing Co Pale Ale, Mudgee Brewing Co Porter and Mudgee Brewing Co Wheat were born.
He has captured the true essence of beer and bottled it to be shared by all.
After the inception of the original 3 flavours Gary used his acquired expertise to continue to brew a range of Mudgee Brewing Company Special Brews, developed using refined knowledge and genuine passion for boutique beers.
